It\u2019s a beautiful bay with a lovely beach. Rainforest and coconut palms grow right down to the beach and with few people around you can imagine Cook\u2019s ship the <strong>Endeavour<\/strong> sailing around the headland.<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ll return on the same road back towards <strong>Port Douglas<\/strong> with great views in the opposite direction and, once over the river crossing, you\u2019ll pull into <strong>Mossman Gorge<\/strong> 20km or so from Port Douglas.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s nothing nicer on a warm, tropical day than stripping the bike gear off and jumping in the cool waters of the <strong>Mossman River<\/strong>. It&#8217;s a great spot for a morning coffee.<\/p>\n<p>Meandering alongside the <strong>Herberton State Forest<\/strong> you\u2019ll reach <strong>Millaa Millaa<\/strong> and the <strong>Waterfall Circuit<\/strong>. It\u2019s a short loop road with many lovely waterfalls. Some such as the Millaa Millaa Falls are easily reached and a great spot for a swim whilst others require more of a walk down sometimes steep forest tracks. Riding to Malanda there\u2019s another waterfall with the Tree Kangaroo Caf\u00e9 ideally situated for lunch.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Curtain Fig Tree<\/strong> is a must-see on the road to Yungaburra and once in the village stop at the end of town and wander along the river hopefully spotting a platypus on the way!<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Gillies Range Road<\/strong> back to Cairns is an incredible ride with spectacular views.
